STEP 01
📋

You tell us what you've got

Fill out the short intake form below. We find out what phone you're on, how many photos you're dealing with, and exactly what you need. No guessing.

STEP 02
📦

We source the right drive

Based on your photo count and phone type, we recommend (or source) the right storage — thumb drive or portable SSD — that's actually compatible with your setup.

STEP 03

We do the work while you go about your day

You drop off your phone in the morning. We connect the drive, transfer everything, organize it into folders by year and month, and verify every file. You don't have to sit there.

STEP 04

You verify at pickup — nothing deleted until you do

When you come back, you go through the drive with us. You confirm everything's there. Only then — and only if you want to free up iPhone storage — do we talk about removing anything.

STEP 05
📄

You leave with a printed completion report

A full summary of exactly what was transferred, how it's organized, drive details, and next steps — in your hands before you walk out. A digital copy goes to your email too.

STEP 06
🔁

Optional: Backup strategy

Want to make sure this never has to happen again? We set up iCloud Photos sync at the end of every session — so every photo you take going forward backs itself up automatically.

Flat-rate. No surprises.

Let's start with you.
Basic contact information so we can follow up and confirm your session.
Leave blank if not applicable.
Used to confirm if we service your area.
Because you're dropping off your iPhone, we need a way to reach you that doesn't depend on that device. A home phone, spouse's number, work email, or any number you can answer on another phone.
If your alternate contact is a mobile number, this lets us text you session updates.
Tell us about your iPhone.
We need this to pick the right transfer method and compatible drive.
Settings → General → About → iOS Version
You can check: Settings → General → iPhone Storage → Photos
Tell us about the rest of your setup.
This helps us figure out the best transfer approach and whether we can also copy to your computer.
Nothing is too small. This helps us show up prepared for what actually matters to you.
Book your drop-off session.
Drop off in the morning. Pick up by end of day. Payment is collected when you submit — your slot isn't held until it's paid.
🕐
How drop-off sessions work: You bring your phone in the morning (by noon). We do the work. You pick it up before 5pm the same day. Your phone is with us for half a day — no longer. When you drop off, we'll give you a paper receipt with your pickup time written on it.
One last step — authorization.
Because you're handing us your phone and walking away, we need your written consent before we touch anything. Please read each item and check the box.
🔒
Your data stays yours. We do not copy, transmit, sell, or share any personal information, photos, or files from your device. Everything we access is solely for the purpose of completing the service you've requested.
By submitting this form, you are providing your electronic signature and agreement to all authorization terms above. Your name and the date of submission will be recorded as your consent.
Type your full name exactly as it appears on your ID.
📋

Almost there — one last step.

Your intake is saved. Your drop-off slot is not confirmed until payment is complete. Complete payment below — it takes 60 seconds and you'll get a receipt immediately.

⚠️ Don't close this tab yet. If you close without paying, your slot will not be held and your intake will not be actioned. Payment is required to confirm your session.

🔒 Powered by Stripe · Secure checkout · Receipt sent to your email immediately after payment.

After payment clears:

  1. Stripe sends a receipt to your email immediately — save it
  2. We'll confirm your drop-off window by email within 2 hours
  3. Bring your phone, charger, and a valid photo ID on the day
  4. We hand you a paper receipt at drop-off with your pickup time on it
  5. Come back by 5pm — your phone and your drive will be ready
Cancellation policy: Cancel at least 24 hours before your drop-off for a full refund. Cancellations within 24 hours are non-refundable. No-shows forfeit the session fee. To cancel, email hello@inward2onward.com with your Stripe receipt number.

Two minutes of prep. Zero surprises.

We walk you through this together when you arrive. Here's exactly what we'll do so you know what to expect.

01
Turn off Auto-Lock
This is the key step. Auto-Lock is what causes your phone to go dark and lock us out mid-transfer. Setting it to "Never" keeps the screen active for the whole session — just like creating a temporary service login on a computer.
Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock → Never
⚠ You'll turn this back on when you pick up your phone. We'll remind you.
02
Make sure Low Power Mode is off
Low Power Mode overrides Auto-Lock and forces the screen to lock after 30 seconds regardless of your settings. If it's on, step one won't work.
Settings → Battery → Low Power Mode → Off
03
Confirm iCloud Photos is on (if applicable)
If your photos live in iCloud rather than on the device itself, this setting needs to be enabled and your phone needs to be connected to Wi-Fi so everything can download before we transfer.
Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Photos → Sync this iPhone → On
⚠ If iCloud storage is full, some photos may not have synced. We'll check this together.
04
Charge your phone — fully — before you arrive
A screen that stays on the entire session burns through battery fast. A phone that dies mid-transfer doesn't just pause things — it can corrupt the file transfer and force us to start over. Arrive at 80% or higher. We'll keep it plugged in during the session, so bring your charger.
Bring your Lightning or USB-C charger with you
⚠ Please do not hand us a dying phone. A dead battery mid-session is the one thing that can actually cause problems with your files.
05
Hand us the phone — unlocked
That's it. You unlock it, you hand it over, we get to work. Your passcode never gets written down, repeated back to us, or stored anywhere. The only thing we're doing with your phone is moving your photos onto your drive.
✓ When you pick it up: set Auto-Lock back to your normal time. Done.
// What to do before you arrive
  • Go to Settings → Display & Brightness → Auto-Lock and set it to Never
  • Go to Settings → Battery and confirm Low Power Mode is off
  • Connect to Wi-Fi so any iCloud photos can finish downloading to your device
  • Do not hand us a dying phone. Charge it to at least 80% before you arrive. A dead battery mid-transfer doesn't just slow things down — it can corrupt the transfer entirely.
// Bring with you
📱 Your iPhone (unlocked when you arrive)
🔌 Your charger (Lightning or USB-C)
💾 Your storage drive (if you already have one)
🪪 Photo ID — required for drop-off sessions
Your passcode stays yours. We will never ask for it in writing, never type it ourselves, and never store it anywhere. You unlock the phone. You hand it over. You get it back exactly as you left it — minus the photos that are now safely on your drive.
🧾
You'll get a paper receipt at drop-off. Your pickup window — written by hand, right in front of you. No waiting for a call. No checking your phone. Just come back at the time on your ticket.

The two-copy strategy. Set up in 10 minutes.

Getting your photos off your phone is step one. Making sure they never get trapped again is step two. Here's exactly what we set up before you leave.

✓ Done — your service today
📦 Copy 1 — Physical Drive
Every photo and video transferred, organized into folders by year and month. This is your archive. It lives in your hands, not in someone else's server. No subscription. No expiration date.
Your drive · Organized folders · Verified transfer
+
↑ We set this up at end of session
☁️ Copy 2 — iCloud Photos
Every photo you take from this moment forward automatically backs itself up to iCloud within minutes of being shot — over Wi-Fi, in the background, without you doing anything. We upgrade your iCloud plan and turn on sync before you walk out.
iCloud 200GB plan · $2.99/month · Automatic · Always on
🔐
Two copies. Two locations. Zero effort after today. Your photos are on your drive and in the cloud. If your phone dies, you're covered. If your drive gets lost, you're covered. That's the standard.
// What we do together at end of session
1
Check your current iCloud storage
We look at how much you're using and how fast you're filling it. This tells us which plan actually makes sense for you — no upselling you to something you don't need.
Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Manage Account Storage
2
Upgrade to iCloud 200GB
For most people, the 200GB plan is the right call — enough room for your photos, device backups, and a few years of growth. You do the upgrade yourself on your phone; we just walk you through it.
Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Upgrade to iCloud+
✓ $2.99 / month — less than a cup of coffee
3
Turn on iCloud Photos sync
One toggle. Every photo you take from this point forward syncs to iCloud automatically — on Wi-Fi, in the background. You never have to remember to back anything up again.
Settings → [Your Name] → iCloud → Photos → Sync this iPhone → On
4
Confirm backup is running
We verify the sync has started before you leave. You'll see a "Uploading" progress bar in the Photos app. Once that's running, you're done.
Photos app → [Your Name profile] → Uploading X items…
5
The six-month rule
Once a year — or whenever your phone starts filling up again — bring it back. We do a fresh transfer to the drive, keep the archive updated, and make sure everything is still syncing. Your photos stay current, your drive stays organized.
Why not just use Google Photos? Google ended unlimited free photo storage in 2021. As of March 2026, the last remaining unlimited plan is gone. Free Google accounts get 15GB — shared between Gmail, Drive, and Photos — which fills up fast. iCloud is the cleaner, more automatic choice for iPhone users, and at $2.99/month it's genuinely cheap for what it does.

Things people ask before they book.

Will you delete my photos without asking me first?
Never. Deleting anything from your iPhone is entirely your call — and it only ever happens after you've looked at the drive yourself and confirmed everything's there. We won't touch a single photo on your phone without your explicit go-ahead.
What kind of drive should I buy?
That depends on your iPhone model, how many photos you have, and whether you also want to use the drive with a computer. We'll tell you exactly what to get after your intake form — no guessing, no buying the wrong thing. If you've already got a drive, bring it and we'll check if it'll work.
How long does a session take?
Most sessions run 60–90 minutes. Larger libraries (10,000+ photos) can take 2–3 hours, but you don't have to sit there the whole time — just be available when we need you to verify things.
Do you need my iPhone passcode?
Not in writing — and never stored anywhere. Here's how it actually works: before you drop off your phone, you make one change in your Settings — you set Auto-Lock to "Never." That keeps the screen on and the phone accessible for the entire session without it locking us out mid-transfer. When you pick it up, you set Auto-Lock back to whatever you normally use. You're in control of that window the whole time. We walk you through the exact steps when you arrive, and it takes about 60 seconds.
What if I have photos on an old iPhone too?
Mention it in your intake form and we'll factor it in. Consolidating photos from multiple devices is something we handle — it just affects which service tier makes the most sense for you.
Can you help me set this up so it never happens again?
Yes — and it's the last thing we do at every session. Here's the actual strategy: your physical drive holds everything historical. iCloud holds everything going forward. Together, your photos exist in two places at all times. We upgrade your iCloud storage to the 200GB plan ($2.99/month — less than a coffee) and turn on iCloud Photos sync. From that point on, every photo you take backs itself up automatically within minutes of being shot. You never have to think about it again. We walk through the full setup on-screen before you leave.
Where do you operate? Do you come to me?
PhotoRescue is based in Glendale, Arizona and currently serves the greater Phoenix metro area. All sessions are drop-off — you bring your phone to us in the morning and pick it up by end of day. We don't do in-home visits at this time. If you're outside the Phoenix metro area and still want to book, reach out to hello@inward2onward.com and we'll see what we can work out.
Do I need to bring a photo ID?
Yes. A valid government-issued photo ID is required for all drop-off sessions. This protects both you and us — we need to confirm that the person dropping off the device is the person authorized to access it. Driver's license, state ID, or passport all work.
